We stayed just one night because it was evening and too late to find another hotel. At checkout we raised our concerns, and the clerk said they couldn’t do anything but that the manager would call the next day. No call came. We wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. We chose it based on online “reviews” that clearly weren’t current. Stay somewhere else. The room was dirty: old food in the fridge and room, a moldy, filthy shower head we had to clean before using, and a bed that was badly made with the bedskirt half on the floor. We also had to wait for the clerk to come back from a smoke break before checking in. We weren’t told when booking that the hotel was under renovation.

The location is great and there’s a lot of potential here. The color change was a good call, and the rooms have plenty of space to redesign them to today’s expectations. It’d help to change the furniture as each floor gets remodeled, and the kitchenettes could use an upgrade too. Maybe add an electric heater for the pool. Thanks for the good price during construction. My wife and I will definitely come back, and I’m looking forward to seeing the remodel finished.

The bed was comfortable, but that was about the only thing going for the room. We wanted a quiet night’s rest while away from our kids, but the noisy wall unit for AC and heat woke us each time it kicked on. Light came through the sheer curtains, and there was drywall dust all through the halls because of the renovation. Under the unit, paint was peeling off the wall and baseboards, clear signs of water damage. I put a towel over the stained, worn chair before sitting down. The bathroom had an odd red stain in the grout, lipstick on the towels, and mold on the shower ceiling. With the dust and mold and so little sleep, I’m worried we’ll feel ill in the coming week. We’re very disappointed in our stay at Ocean Inn and Suites. The price and location are the only things this place has going for it.

The hotel itself was great, but the construction workers entered our room while we were out for the day. I’d put up the Do Not Disturb sign and jammed it so it would swing freely if the door opened. It was still jammed when we returned on the second day. They’d already tried to come in the first morning while we were in the room, so they knew it was occupied.
