Beach Club 208

The staff made the stay awful. They were rude to everyone in our condo, and one woman got in my face, wagging her finger at me like I was a child. That felt completely unprofessional. They even said the air conditioner shouldn’t run with a door open. There were also a lot of elderly guests, so if you want a lively vacation, I’d look elsewhere. I hope they enjoy the $1,000 they got for the weekend, because they won’t get another chance from me. I wouldn’t recommend going if you don’t want to be treated like a child or spoken to rudely.

The place looked great at first, with a perfect kitchen and living room/dining room, and the bedrooms seemed nice. Then the problems piled up. The master bathroom ceiling was falling apart, and the showerhead was so clogged and dirty that the water came out painfully hard. I had to clean it. The kitchen faucet sprayer shot water everywhere, and when I checked it, there was mold and slime all over it. I had to clean that too. The building also seems old and undermaintained. Whenever someone used water, the pipes banged in the walls, which made it hard to sleep. The AC kept the living room freezing, but the bedrooms stayed hot. I woke up sweating in puddles through the night, and we had to get new sheets. For what this place costs, go somewhere else. I can’t imagine another place being worse.

Our room was in good shape and well kept, and it was easy to get to the beach. The tennis courts are good, too. There’s a nice pool and good facilities, though the hot tubs need updating. Parking is tight, as others have mentioned, but overall it’s a very nice place.

Sandra, the concierge, can arrange a kayak or paddleboard tour through SSI SUP, get rental bikes delivered from Monkey Wrench, or schedule a photo shoot with John Krivek. Families with kids should enjoy it here. The grounds are beautiful, and Beach Club has a lovely pool with lots of chairs and tables, grassy spots to sit or play, and a gated beach entrance that needs a code. You can buy a year-long pass through Sea Palms, an affiliate of Beach Club, to use the pool, hot tubs, and beach access.
