Hampton Inn Houston/Stafford

We had to carry all our luggage in ourselves, the three of us, because there wasn't even a luggage cart. I spoke with the manager, who had nothing but excuses. When I asked the front desk to let me talk to him, she said to give him five minutes, but he was outside smoking. I had to go out and approach him myself. When you've paid your hard-earned money, you should be treated with more courtesy.

The hotel feels old and really needs an update, though it was clean and safe. Breakfast was good, and the women were very polite, but the men at the front desk could ease up. Management sticks to the rules instead of the guidelines: only Hilton Diamond guests get a free bottle of water, and they wouldn't make an exception. I paid $6 for mine. There are literally other hotels right next door, so I'll choose one of them next time.

I haven't checked in yet, but I've been trying to reach the hotel with a question. I called several times yesterday throughout the day and nobody answered, not even an automated recording. It's made me nervous about staying there.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the rooms feel dated and stale. The carpet is dark and old throughout the hotel. There's rust and mold around the pool.
