Jean and Jim made our stay at Stamford Gables Bed & Breakfast amazing. The breakfast was a highlight: superb buttermilk pancakes, probably the best I’ve ever had, and wonderful scones. It was a relaxing weekend getaway and a perfect way to start the new year in a lovely upstate NY town with such a rich history. We found a lot to do nearby. Book lovers should check out Hobart Book Village, just minutes away, with its unique bookstores and summer festival of women writers. Stamford Coffee is worth a stop even if you don’t drink coffee, since the Catskill Outpost next door has fantastic Catskill trinkets and clothes, and cat lovers will be especially happy. For a meal, Bovina Farm & Fermentory is about an 18 minute drive, with an amazing locally sourced farm-to-table dinner and tasty beer brewed right there. Hunter Mountain is about 30 minutes away for skiing or snowboarding. I’ll definitely return, and I’m excited to learn more about Stamford and the Catskills with my new books from Blenheim Hill Books.

Jean and Jim were great, and we enjoyed everything at The Gables B&B in Stamford NY. Our room was clean, warm, attractive, and comfortable. Breakfast was the best: crispy bacon and blueberry pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup. Yummy! We’ll definitely be back.

Jean made us feel cared for throughout our stay at Stamford Gables. The homemade breakfasts and cookies were such a lovely touch, and she seems to have thought of everything. We had a wonderful time and would recommend staying here when visiting Stamford.

The rooms were neat and well looked after, and Jim and Jean made us feel at home. Jean's breakfast was delicious, while Jim kept us entertained with his stories. I'd gladly stay again if I'm ever nearby.

We had such a nice family weekend at Gables. The rooms gave us plenty of space, and the owners made us feel warmly welcome. Breakfast and service were the best. Thanks for accommodating all of us.
