Stanwood Hotel Saloon

We left without finishing our beers. After a live music event on Valentine's Day, we stopped in for a drink before heading home. We saw two tables exchanging words, then a big man in a cowboy hat shoved a much smaller woman after she stepped toward him. When the groups separated and the woman's party left, the blonde bartender laughed and warmly called the man over to get more drinks. She seemed to know him and didn't appear concerned that he'd gotten physical with a woman. We found that support really upsetting. Then, with 12 minutes until closing, the bartender told us to finish up. We said we were nearly done and asked in a friendly way whether they closed at 12. She answered rudely, “Yeah! But I can kick you out right now if I want!” We were calm, but after everything we'd seen, we just got up and left. Our whole group was shocked by how she spoke to us. Being chummy with someone who'd shoved a woman, then threatening to kick out calm customers, means we and our friends in the community won't support this place again.

We had a good time and the atmosphere was great last night, but the staff were rude. Maybe the bartenders are just burned out and should move on somewhere new. Not a smile, nothing!

Great location and good prices, plus the service was great and the place felt cozy. I've heard the weekend karaoke is fun, though I haven't been.

Loved the warm, rustic feel, and Alisha was friendly behind the bar. Don't miss Taco Tuesday, the $2 tacos are delicious!
