I spent one night here. The reviews and the area both looked promising, and it was handy for shopping at the businesses that are open nearby. The bed was okay. The room felt really small and not especially clean, and the toilet was loud and wouldn't flush properly. Also, there's a nightclub right next door, with college kids gathering outside and making a lot of noise until around 2 a.m. That's something to know before booking.

The owner offered to comp the room after I told him how unhappy I was, but we insisted on paying, and he agreed to a reasonable price. I appreciate that he tried to make things right. I had left a very negative review because I couldn't sleep and wasn't happy with the place. The room was a bit cramped, and the AC didn't cool it well, so the heat made sleeping difficult.

The staff really went out of their way for us and upgraded our booking to two adjoining rooms. Everything was comfortable and clean, with a lot of Southern charm. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Chester, and I'd recommend it!

We mostly loved checking out the beer selection in their beer garden. The food was good, and our room was nice. It had more of a B&B feel than a commercial hotel.

There isn't onsite parking, just street parking and a free lot half a block away. In such a small, quaint town that wasn't a concern, and the area felt very safe. It's a nice, upscale place for a small town, with friendly staff and clean rooms.
