We were glad the stay lasted less than a day. The lake itself is quiet and lovely, and the weather worked out for kayaking. The owner made sure we wore life vests, which I appreciated. The room, though, had almost nothing in it besides a plug-in heater: no TV or fridge, worn carpet, rusty old lamps, and a fan we had to remove from the leaky, very dirty window just to close it. Dinner service was handled by one server who seemed overworked and irritated by questions, and the food was mediocre. Breakfast was unexpectedly good, though the owner served us and came across as warm to some guests and rude to others. The low price may look appealing next to other places nearby, but I haven't seen a place like this in 40 years, and not in a good way.

We ended up getting back on the motorcycle and riding all the way home, so much for a relaxing last evening of vacation. The room was on the third floor, and I already didn't want to haul all our things up three flights. Inside, it was dark and cramped, with a tiny, old bathroom. The Inn's interior smelled musty, with clutter and kids' toys all over, and the outside looked run down and in need of major repairs. We'd reserved a room for that day, but at check-in we learned there was no air conditioning or TV. After hours riding on our trip, all I wanted was a shower, a comfortable bed, and a movie or something. My partner suggested we look at the room before leaving, but it was just as disappointing as the rest of the place. Maybe the hotel was great when it opened 100 years ago. It needs repairs and updates throughout. I couldn't recommend it.

The views were wonderful, the room was cozy, and the staff were so friendly. I feel lucky we found this place when we needed a quick rest stop on a road trip. We booked at the last minute and were really impressed by the accommodations and homemade breakfast. We'll be back!

Suite 8 was great, especially the updated bathroom. We had a nice time, with beautiful views, good food, and cold beer. It's family-run rather than a chain, so expect that kind of place. The pet-friendly policy was a plus, though the docks could use some updating.

The staff were very nice and accommodating, and our room was fairly clean, though a little musty. The Inn is on a beautiful lake in upstate Pennsylvania, with a turn-of-the-century theme and lots of unique antiques, but it also feels run down. Toys were scattered around the lobby, and it was clear from the start that the place is family friendly, though it has some issues. Around 9:30, a bus arrived and dropped off a large group of high-school-aged kids. They were very loud until about midnight, running around and cursing. We told the staff downstairs, and another guest was bringing it up too. The staff already knew since the kids were in the lobby. We were told the bus would pick them up around 12am, and that they were counselors from a nearby summer camp who come most weekends to unwind. It's sad that the owner doesn't seem to realize this is hurting the business, and allows it to happen when guests are trying to sleep and enjoy a quiet B&B. We wish them the best.
