Carnegie Inn & Spa, an Ascend Hotel Collection Mem

I was visiting for my son's graduation, and this place was a real gem. I travel a lot and can be pretty demanding, but it lived up to my expectations. The room had plenty of thoughtful touches, and the service was excellent, with friendly, attentive staff. I had dinner at the restaurant twice, and both times the steaks were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend!

I’m Italian, so I ordered the carbonara, and it was true to the Italian recipe, with guanciale, egg, and cheese. The pasta was clearly handmade and perfectly al dente. I understand an Italian chef from the sister property in Lucca, Italy introduced these dishes. Dinner at Stonhouse Pub/Grace Restaurant was exquisite, with authentic Italian options alongside traditional steak and seafood. The room was spotless, modern, quiet, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. Service throughout was friendly, professional, and responsive, with real attention to detail. From a room request before we arrived to check-in, dinner at the on-site restaurant/bar, and the overnight front desk, everything was spot on. Abigail, Alanna, and Bill deserve a special mention. We came from NYC to visit Penn state and Bellafonte, and the whole team was welcoming and more than hospitable. The rooms are stunning and meticulously clean, just like the pictures on their page, which is rare nowadays. Everyone went above and beyond. Hopefully my niece attends Penn State, and if she does, we’ve found our place!

We like coming here for anniversaries and birthdays, especially with that amazing upscale restaurant on-site. Carnegie House is a charming boutique hotel beside a golf course, tucked away near Penn State University. Its 21 rooms are quiet, sophisticated, spacious, and recently remodeled. The staff are professional and attentive to details. Highly recommend.
