Economy Inn

After six hours on the road with another five still ahead, we needed a clean, first-floor King room. We found one that was comfortable and clean, for under $100 a night. The night clerk was great, and Sammy Shaw, the morning clerk, was wonderful too. We travel every weekend, so it’s amazing to find friendly people and good value so often. Thank you.

The room looked cute and clean at first, but the floor felt sandy and gritty, so I wore flip-flops to walk around. The bed’s headboard was nasty where the pillows rest and your head goes, and I have no idea when it was last cleaned. There was hair in the shower and on top of the tub. The coffee maker didn’t work and hadn’t been cleaned properly. It all looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in a while. There were no tissues or other extras, and only enough coffee supplies for one cup. The manager felt nosy. He called to tell me to keep the door shut, and when I looked outside, I saw a camera pointed right at it, with a view into the room when the door was open. That felt like an invasion of privacy. The website said pet-friendly, though signs around the place said pets weren’t allowed. There was noise from a busy 86 Lumber behind the property all night. I expected to pay $64 plus tax, but the total was $100. For the same price, I could’ve had breakfast, a pool, and more elsewhere. The staff were rude, too. Foreigners own the place. I also wonder if it’s an inn of ill repute, based on suspicious activity I noticed outside while smoking. Thanks for letting me share. Look at the upper right of the photo.

The room was clean and had no bugs, but staff woke me at 8:00 every morning, which was terrible. I also called on Monday and was quoted $375 plus tax for Monday through Sunday. When I arrived, I paid $425 for four nights, so that wasn’t what I’d been told. Then I was woken again, and staff were talking about checkout at 10:00. I’ve never stayed at a hotel with a 10:00 checkout.

We stopped partway through a trip when we were too tired to keep driving, and I was pleasantly surprised by how bright and sunny the room felt. I think everything inside had been replaced. The bare floors look good and make the space feel lighter. The manager and staff were courteous and helpful. They do things the old-fashioned way, and I liked that.
