Hampton Inn and Suites Steamboat Springs

I’ve stayed here before and liked the location, the staff, and how clean the hotel was. This time, after a rough drive from Denver, I realized I’d forgotten my license. My first room was on the ground floor facing the parking lot, which didn’t feel ideal as a woman traveling alone. I asked about moving, and Charlie promptly put me on the third floor. IT. IS. BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for the great service. Hilton properties are always nice to stay at, and Charlie made this visit especially good.

I was in town for work and had a comfortable, enjoyable stay. The hotel is a bit farther from the ski runs than most places, but there seemed to be a shuttle, and in Steamboat you’re never all that far from the resort anyway. There are also some great places to eat in town. The room was quite nice, with all the amenities you’d want, and breakfast was very good.

The bed was really comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently close to downtown. But our room felt tiny for over $100 a night. The bathroom was so tight the door just missed the toilet, and there was barely space to move around in the room. It seems you only get a fridge and microwave with a suite. Also, the train tracks are right by the hotel, so expect the whistle to wake you at 2 am.

The room was quiet and comfortable, and breakfast was easy to get. The staff were friendly, too. One thing to know: the third-floor layout is unusual, with a separate stairwell for each room and no elevator. After a long hike, that extra flight was hard to manage, though it wasn’t a major issue.
