Homewood Suites by Hilton Steamboat Springs

The room was comfortable and roomy enough for a long stay, and breakfast was great. We also liked the cozy lobby. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Steamboat.

We especially appreciated the warm, helpful staff, who went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. The suite was clean and spacious, with a full kitchenette that made it feel like home, and the beds were cozy. We woke up to beautiful mountain views. Breakfast was complimentary, had plenty of choices, and staff kept everything stocked. After exploring Steamboat, the indoor pool and hot tub were a nice place to unwind, and the fitness room was a bonus. Downtown and the slopes were a short drive or shuttle ride away. We had a wonderful stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Steamboat Springs and would return. It seems like a good option for families or couples.

The view was beautiful, and the ski and town shuttle stops right across the parking lot. The location is great, but the room felt like the cheapest Hilton I've seen. During the storm, cold air came in beneath the heat unit under the window, where expand foam had already been placed, and there was a crack in the wall next to it. The bathroom wallpaper had large paint splatters near the ceiling corner. Its metal doors and frames, with screws already rusting, reminded me of a hospital. There's no fan to clear steam or air from the toilet and shower area. The pillows were so soft they went flat when I tried to sleep on them, so bring your own if you want to avoid a kink in your neck. Breakfast was below anything I've had at a Hilton.

The bathroom vanity area shows the problems clearly: cheap-looking textured wall covering and a rough, uneven patch where the corner was finished. Basic spotlights add to the budget-motel feel. My stay at this Hilton property was let down by the low-end finishes and lack of attention to detail, far below what I expect from the brand. Sloppy work in visible parts of a room or shared spaces makes me question how the hotel maintains its physical assets. A Hilton should show quality, durability, and care. This level of workmanship is unacceptable for a premium, globally recognized brand and needs prompt correction. Management should review the materials and workmanship throughout the hotel.
