For 2023, this was the best value I could find for staying close enough to ski on and off the slopes. Four adult men made the space feel tight, but we managed. Cooking breakfast and lunch helped us save money, and the kitchen was well stocked. We made bacon, eggs, potatoes, sandwiches, and chili for three days, though I'd keep meal plans simple. If you're not an Apple user, bring a Chromecast for the TV. Get your groceries before you reach Steamboat Springs.

You can't ski in and out from here, but the door-to-door shuttle is excellent. There's a dedicated number for requesting a ride, and pickups at village locations are often in 10 minutes or less. The clean, comfortable accommodations come in several sizes for different groups. We'll definitely be back, and highly recommend it.
Downtown is just minutes away, and the rooms were very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We hadn't realized there was no AC, but there were several fans around the condo for us to use.
The neighborhood was quiet and residential, and once we arrived, there was no need to drive. The shuttle picked us up right at the door, and Thunderhead Express lift was an easy walk. With Covid, we made most of our meals in the condo, and the kitchen worked great for that.
The information about pets was all over the place, and the property manager handled the situation terribly. Homeowners and guests shouldn't be blamed for the building's confusion. My husband came to Steamboat for a business trip when it was quiet this time of year, and I followed him later. Before leaving our home in Summit County, I checked Google, TripAdvisor, and the main website to see whether we could bring our dog. TripAdvisor, which had been updated that month, and its reviews described this as one of the few pet-friendly places in Steamboat. The website didn't mention pets at all. The only note at the bottom said it was a non-smoking building but guests could smoke in their cars, which was odd. My husband arrived first because he had work to do and didn't notice the little rule signs on the side of the door. When I got there, I saw signs about picking up dog poop and counted two mutt mitt dispensers. So it was a surprise to find a small sign by the door saying pets weren't allowed in the building. What were the dispensers for, the bears? We couldn't leave our dog in the car because it was 85 degrees during the day, so we spent most of the day outside the condo. The manager saw our dog in the parking lot and said nothing. After we got home, though, we learned the homeowners had been fined because of our dog. I'm writing this to warn other pet owners, especially anyone booking through a third-party site, since the lodge apparently doesn't have their information. Service animals are allowed, but the manager didn't ask us anything or say a word, then fined the homeowners without getting more details. That feels shady to me. The parking situation felt shady too. I understand spaces can be scarce in a small lot, but some common sense would have helped. The lodge sits at the top of a winding road, with nothing of interest nearby. Our condo had one parking pass. The manager had seen us outside with our dog and both cars, and knew we were in the same unit, but the next morning there was a tow sticker on my car. The place was empty, and I wasn't taking anyone else's space. I had to rig the pass and write a long note explaining that both cars belonged to the same unit. Then my husband and I took turns moving the pass between our cars, hoping neither would be towed. Scandinavian Lodge needs to make its information consistent. People travel a long way and can't just leave their pets on the street when they arrive. The building could use better management and hospitality, too. It smells musty, looks like an old motel, and the manager creeped me out. I wouldn't pay to stay here, and I wouldn't buy a unit here either.
