Steamboat Grand Resort

We came for a three-day midweek getaway in the shoulder season, in mid-November, and got a great rate. Two nights likely cost less than one night in high season. The hotel felt warm and cozy, the rooms were exquisite, and every staff member we met was very friendly. I’d happily stay again anytime. The two hot tubs are huge, and both have great jets. The one on the right was hotter than the one on the left when leaving the building. The pool is described as swim-in and swim-out, but there’s only a six-foot entry just outside the door by the steam rooms and saunas, so you can’t really swim indoors. Our fourth-floor suite, near the middle of the building, had two bars of 4G in some spots and three bars of 5G elsewhere. There are plenty of USB outlets in lamps by the bed and in some living room lamps, though they’re USB-A.

We spent a lovely weekend here. After a day of adventures, we had great cocktails and relaxed by the pool. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the staff were amazing, going above and beyond.

The Steamboat Grand has a gorgeous outdoor pool, a great location, a clean hotel, and wonderful staff. But the place feels tired and dated. Our room furniture and sofa were uncomfortable, and the beds and pillows were hard. Softer linens and furnishings, along with an overall update, would make a big difference.

The location, staff, pool, and food were all very nice during our weeklong stay in February 2026. The bedrooms did have nice closets, so we hung up what we could, but there weren’t any dressers or drawers. We ended up living out of suitcases all week, which was a serious inconvenience. Under the TVs there was only a basic media cabinet, not the dresser with drawers you’d expect in a hotel room. The third bedroom also had no nightstand between the beds, another big inconvenience.
