The Fold Hotels Steamboat Springs

The rooms were bigger than the hotels nearby, and having a full kitchen saved us a lot on eating out. Great value for the money. The staff were friendly, knew their stuff, and were always ready to help. A big thanks to shuttle drivers Derron, OD, Patrick, and general manager Jermanie. We loved staying at Legacy Vacation Resort and will be back soon.

The lobby and game room were clean and fun, with a pool table, an arcade game, and free board games. There’s also a second floor deck with a BBQ. We didn’t try the sauna, hot tub, or exercise equipment, but they looked clean and in working order. Our two bedroom suite was clean, everything worked, and it had a full kitchen. There was a TV in each bedroom as well as one in the sitting room. The beds felt a bit firm for us, but were still comfortable. Parking was plentiful right outside the room. The hotel sits between old downtown Steamboat and the ski slopes, one block off the highway. Street repaving was happening out front, though getting in and out of the lot was still easy, and it looked like the work would be done within a month or sooner. We forgot our smartwatch chargers, and the manager, I believe her name was Cathleen, kindly let us use her personal watch charger. We’ll definitely stay again.

The location is great, and the people are nice when you can find someone, but the rooms just don’t work well for skiers. There’s nowhere to hang coats, helmets, or wet towels, and no place for gear. The thermostat seems useless: it’s always too hot, except for the freezing air coming around the AC unit still sitting in the window in February, with only a piece of plastic around it. Not a great stay.

The staff were lovely and courteous, and the place has good bones, but the details need attention. The walls are bare, and the fluorescent ceiling lights against white walls make the lighting awful. Area rugs and a few lamps would help a lot. I had to screw in the coax cable on the televisions to get proper reception. The dishwasher needs a special pellet, but the one provided was a cheap substitute. Streaming options on the TVs are limited. Come on, it’s 2026. The staff try hard, but paying attention to these things would really perk the place up.
