Our condo was beautiful, but the management company was horrible. We booked three units for three families, and Mountain Resorts won’t be getting our business again. When we arrived, around 1:30 pm, only one unit was ready. We had groceries to buy and a ski fitting appointment, so we said we’d go shop while the other two were prepared. The front desk promised they’d definitely be ready within about an hour. We came back an hour and a half later with perishable groceries, two exhausted kids, and our fitting appointment coming up, only to be told the units would be ready at 4. When we asked why we’d been told otherwise, there was no answer or apology. I asked for a manager and was told none was available. We took the groceries to the fridge in the one unit we had, while my husband and father-in-law waited at the office for the other keys. A woman at the desk then said the units would be ready sometime after 4. We had no idea what that meant, and still nobody apologized. We finally got the keys at 4, after deciding we’d never come back to West Condominiums. They said an inspector would meet us to make sure the unit was clean, but nobody came. The kitchen table and one chair were sticky with something like syrup, and my son sat on the chair before we realized it was dirty, getting his pants completely sticky. The counter had several sticky spots and hadn’t been cleaned at all. The day before checkout, I called to ask for a one-hour courtesy late checkout, from 10 to 11 am. Both the front desk staff member and the manager, Daniel, said no because of a back-to-back booking and the need to clean and inspect before the next guest arrived. It’s hard to understand that explanation when our unit wasn’t ready before 4 on arrival and clearly hadn’t been inspected.

The condo fit our whole family, was clean, and was in a good location beside the free parking area. The West’s lot never filled up while we were there. We booked through Vacasa and got no support from The West. Vacasa didn’t seem to communicate well with them either. We had no sofa-bed sheets or amenities code, and the parking pass situation was confusing. The West had notices saying the front desk and staff don’t deal with rental guests and to contact the property manager, but the manager sent us back to the front desk. I wouldn’t book our unit again. Those problems seemed to be with the owner or property manager, though, rather than The West itself.

We’re in Unit 3238 now, and it’s a tiny, gloomy, somewhat filthy room. There’s no desk or storage space, the ceiling is stained, and the carpet is too dirty to seem cleanable. Things look worn out and outdated. Even the box spring is stained and uncovered. The building’s walls are paper thin, too, though that isn’t specific to this unit. At $100 a night, I might say it’s worth staying here. At four or five times that price, the room is ridiculous. It would get zero stars from me, but Google requires at least one to post a review.

I can’t believe I’m expected to stay in this unit after paying an insane amount of money. It’s far worse than the one we stayed in last year, when I expected an updated, spacious place with an amazing view. This one smells moldy and dusty, the paint is peeling, the furniture is horrible, and it looks like it hasn’t been updated in 20 years. The internet password doesn’t work, and one of the keys doesn’t work either. When I told Keith, your director of guest relations, about it, he hung up on me. I called back 11 times over the next stretch of time to discuss these problems, but they refused to talk; the front desk just said they had no solution. This is the worst customer service I’ve experienced. I need a call back ASAP and a solution. Do not stay here. Find somewhere else.

It’s a short walk to the resort, and the views are nice. The place is quiet, too. We arrived at 3 pm but couldn’t check in until 4 because they said the room was still being cleaned, even though checkout is at 10. The condo could use remodeling, and our bathroom toilet ran the entire time we were there. We were told that if the lot filled up, we’d have to park 5 mi away and take a bus, though that never came up. We did have to move our car once because of signs saying they’d be plowing.
