Americas Best Value Inn Stearns

We'd been coming to Stearns for our anniversary for about ten years, but this was a horrible experience. Somehow we booked Thursday instead of Friday. When we arrived Friday, the owner muttered about our reservation and never clearly told us he was charging us twice. Expedia said it was up to the owner whether to refund us, and he refused. It seems an extra hundred dollars mattered more to him than treating us decently. The hotel later replied here saying they wanted to make things right, but that was the only response. More than a week passed with no contact, even after my wife called directly. I'll now take the matter to the Commonwealth Attorney General, which I was told is the most effective remedy, and share our experience with Stearns and McCreary county business authorities. I would understand if the hotel had been full or nearly full, but it looked like only five or six rooms were rented that night. I'm sure this business doesn't represent the good people of McCreary county or Stearns. They did return the four-dollar-per-person insurance fee we took through the hotel, which probably would have protected against this kind of thing. I hope karma catches up with the owner.

We live paycheck to paycheck and hadn't taken a trip in a long time, so we planned a weekend away for our 42nd anniversary. I accidentally booked the night before through Expedia. When we checked in, the owner told me to contact Expedia, as if a refund was their decision. We paid to stay that night, and it cost more than Expedia had charged. Expedia tried to get the money back from the owner, but he refused. The owner charged us for two nights even though we only stayed one. There were three cars in the lot on Friday, and I'm sure we hadn't taken a bed from anyone on Thursday. THE OWNER IS NOT A DECENT MAN!

Red at the front desk sorted out a couple of problems with our room right away and moved us to another one. We'd gladly stay here again and recommend it.

The place was really convenient for what I needed, and the staff and owner were accommodating and friendly. Redd and Alisha made the stay especially nice, thank you both. The rooms are huge and newly renovated, with updated appliances.
