Comfort Inn Pocono Lakes Region

The room was clean and nice, the location was convenient, and Holly was sweet when she checked us in. The complimentary cookies were delicious too. But the free breakfast let the place down. The eggs were watery and not good, and the hot tea water wasn’t even warm. My waffle was okay. The bathroom was cramped, with the door nearly hitting the toilet. The toilet was very low, which isn’t great for older people, and the sink was so low I had to bend awkwardly to brush my teeth. We only needed one night because there’d been a flood at our summer home. I’d still recommend the hotel, but I’d pay to eat at the IHOP next door.

I liked the hot breakfast and fitness room, and appreciated that someone kept an eye on the breakfast area so it stayed clean and stocked. The receptionist who greeted me was warm, welcoming, and helpful. My letdown was the tiny bathroom and how close its door is to the entrance door. Also, the envelope for tipping housekeeping didn’t have a name on it, which made it feel impersonal compared with places I’ve stayed before.

The lobby felt warm and welcoming, and was nicely decorated. Our room was roomy enough, with comfortable beds. The bathroom was very small, though, and it’s easy to get caught between the door and toilet. Breakfast was adequate. I wish all Choice Hotels offered turkey sausage, since many people can’t eat pork for health reasons.

The staff were really friendly, the rooms were clean, and parking was great. I stayed two nights and checked in late, around 11 p.m. The sheets were clean but old, and mine had a rip. Breakfast had very few choices. I can’t eat gluten, and many hotels have things like fruit, yogurt, or turkey sausage. Here I only saw pork sausage, which many people don’t eat, soggy, watery scrambled eggs, and I think there were pancakes. Nothing else caught my eye. The bathroom smelled a little odd, and there was no shower wash, just soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. Apart from that, the room and stay were great.
