There’s plenty of parking, the place felt safe and clean, and the laundry was reasonably priced. The lobby has free coffee, lemon water, or tea around the clock. A gas station is an easy walk away, and if you need a hat, clothes, or a swimsuit, there’s a Goodwill nearby too. Magic Mountain is close, and you can reach it by taking The Old Road without getting back on the 5 NB. Say hi to Daryl at the gas station if he’s working. The room was huge, and the double-bed setup includes a pullout mattress in the couch, so there’s room for as many as six if needed. I was glad to have a third bed and enough space to sleep far from my alcoholic ex-husband’s awful snoring. I don’t get what his new girlfriend sees in him, given his end-stage alcoholism and that he may not have long, but I’m just glad she took him off my hands. Breakfast had lots of options. One thing to know: hotels nearby handle security deposits differently, and this one puts a $50 hold.

The manager personally got my medical device back to me quickly after the cleaning staff reported finding it in my room. That made a big impression. Everyone was friendly, and the free breakfast was good too. I’d definitely stay here again.

For a budget stay, it does the job. The clean room had a comfortable bed, a large fridge, and a well-stocked coffee setup. Breakfast is convenient, though the choices are more about convenience than nutrition. In Room 237, a few bathroom repairs are needed: the shower curtain rod is coming away from the wall, the plate around the shower head is loose, and the shower head sits so high it’s not safe to reach for adjustments. The floor tile also rattles where the grout is gone.

The bed was really comfortable and the sheets were clean, which I was grateful for. The pillows seemed ancient, though, and the couch had what looked like a skid mark. I stayed 10/7-10/9 2025, and the bathroom cleanliness was awful. The whirlpool tub we’d been looking forward to was too disgusting to use, with red-brown buildup in the jets. I was shocked they left it that way and can only imagine what might have come out if we’d turned them on. The toilet was gross around the seat hinges, so I cleaned that myself. Breakfast was disappointing, especially because of the service. The food was just okay, and the only protein was microwave bacon with a hair in it one day, then warmed deli ham the next. At 9:20, while guests were still making food and waiting in line for waffles, the worker had already taken the butter spray, plates, and silverware. She turned off the juice machine and removed the milk and bowls before the 9:30 closing time. People ended up putting cereal in waffle batter cups. It felt like a strange power trip, taking things away while we were trying to eat, and it only left her with more mess to clean. She was also talking on her phone through an AirPod, which made her hard to approach. I’ve never had this happen at a hotel before.

After a few hours in the room, my eyelids turned red and I started itching. I searched for about 30 minutes and found what must have been around 2 pounds of cat hair swept under the bed. I’d rented the room for 2 nights. I went straight to the front desk, where a sign said to ring a bell, but nobody was there. When an employee finally came, I explained what happened and she looked me in the eye and asked, “What do you want me to do?” I was furious. Maybe offer me a cleaner room or a full refund? She refused both. I sat in front of her and called corporate. They comped the room charges and gave me another 2 day free stay, which I’ll use at a different location. If you stay at one of their many locations, check under the bed.
