Hotel Crosby

The location worked really well, and parking was free in the garage behind the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby, restaurant, and meeting spaces felt warm and welcoming, though the fitness room has been turned into another meeting room. In my room, the HVAC was quite loud. There are no desks or fridges in the rooms, and the roller shades let in enough light that the room stays pretty bright. No curtains, either. There’s no breakfast at the hotel.

For what we paid, I expected a few more comforts. There were no robes, no blackout shades to keep the lights outside from shining in, and coffee in the lobby in the morning but no food to buy before 11. We could hear guests’ conversations and every closing door through the thin-seeming walls and doors. The rooms themselves were very clean and modern, and the lobby and restaurant were great. The location is unbeatable. It wasn’t a bad stay, just less than we expected from an expensive hotel.

We had to cut our latest weekend visit to Hotel Crosby short by a night because our child was sick and there was a family emergency. We left late in the afternoon, likely too late for them to rebook the room, but management still credited us for that night. They didn’t have to do that, and the kindness really says a lot about how they treat guests. My wife and I make a point of coming here every year for a getaway, and the welcoming Hotel Crosby team has made us customers for life. Highly recommend it when you’re visiting Stillwater.

Matchstick is worth a visit for the exquisite food and drinks, and the staff here make the whole place special. Whatever department they’re in, they go the extra mile and help each other so your stay is memorable. It’s one of Stillwater’s all-time favorites for weddings, too. Ask for what you need and they’ll go to hell and back to get it. I can’t say enough about the people working here!
