Super 8 Stillwater/St Paul

We slept really well, the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast suited the price, and the hotel staff were generous and very nice. There was one small issue with the fridge stand, but it was nothing much. I'd definitely stay here again.

I checked out at 3 a.m. and got a full refund. The front desk people were very nice, but the room problems kept piling up. The first toilet didn't work because the chain had come off. I was assigned another room, but it smelled weird and had spilled coffee on the nightstand plus stains on the bed quilt and sheets. I went back to the first room and fixed the toilet myself, only to find the sink didn't work. I just wanted to sleep, but two hours later my partner woke up with itchy welts on her arms and back. We turned on the light and saw little red bugs, though I'm not sure what they were. Then I lifted the pillow on the other bed and found a large bed bug that hadn't been there earlier. I checked for bugs, but clearly need to go back and learn how to do that better.

Finding the hotel was easy, though the name had changed to Asteria inn. The front desk person was pleasant and got our Bachelorette party checked in quickly. By the time we got up, the continental breakfast had been taken down. There was coffee, but it was too hot to drink. A pleasant stay, nothing fancy.

A bedbug was waiting when I woke up. Thanks so much, Super 8 of Stillwater, MN, for a "wonderful" weekend. Before that, they triple-billed me, charging my debit card twice and claiming neither payment went through. I had the emails to prove the charges had gone through. I spent an hour on the phone with my debit-card company getting the charges reversed, then paid cash for the two nights. I expect it'll be difficult to get that money back.
