Americas Best Value Inn Stockbridge

My sister and I were driving to Florida when another hotel suggested Americas Best Stockbridge, 110 Hwy 138, Stockbridge, GA. It was late, and we paid $80 for a room with two queen beds. As soon as we entered, we smelled marijuana coming from the adjoining neighbor's door. The walls were gross, and the bathroom wasn't much better. We didn't even try to pull back the bedcovers. We left the key and got out of there. Once back on the road, I called and explained what happened to a staff member who spoke very little, if any, English. He didn't seem to understand and refused a refund, saying, “no refund here, You welcome anytime I give you key”.

I paid for a room around 7 AM, then had to leave at 11 AM, the checkout time. No one told me about that cutoff until after I'd paid full price. The night auditor said he had, but I recorded the conversation and plan to post it later. I review hotels for a living, and this place was dirty. I don't recommend it to anyone. They took my money, and I think this hotel should be shut down.

On Monday, we arrived to freezing weather and the man at the desk held things up while asking to see ID. I showed him my passport, but he still called the boss before they let us in. In the room, the curtains didn't close fully on either side, so people could look in. I had to put a chair by them. The door barely shut and stayed slightly open, though thankfully nothing came through. The sheets had a small hole and the towels were stained, so I bought towels, a washcloth, and soap at Dollar Tree. We heard gunshots and left a day early. I really don't recommend this hotel.

I'd lie down, feel something biting me, get up, then lie back down and feel it again. It made me think there were bed bugs. The desk staff were rude and wouldn't refund me. With bugs that are so hard to get rid of, and a wooden headboard they can live in, this place needs to close.
