Fairfield Inn & Suites Strasburg Shenandoah Valley

The staff were awesome, and it was easy to walk to nearby restaurants. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and the pool stays open until 11 pm. The hotel was incredibly clean, and with Shenandoah National Park about 30 minutes away, I thought the price was very reasonable. I’d definitely return.

The service was great, and the room was clean. Still, the bed felt worn and didn’t offer much support. The TV was old but worked, the dressers were banged up, and the refrigerator didn’t get cold enough. It’s fine for a day or two. I usually choose Fairfield Inn because its comfort is reliably consistent, but this one looks newer than it is.

The breakfast was below what I expect from a Fairfield, and the coffee was weak and bitter. There wasn’t oat milk or another option for people who can’t have lactose. The TV was small and old, and the noisy heater and AC made a quiet room hard to get. I could also hear the old elevator and ice machine. My bed was uncomfortable, with lumpy, hard pillows. The refrigerator didn’t get cold, some towels were thin and old while others were better, and there was no shampoo at all. As an upper-level member, I got no recognition or complimentary water. This didn’t meet the usual Marriott Fairfield standard for me.

I felt safe and secure here, which matters a lot to me, and the location is convenient to I-81 in the lovely Shenandoah Valley. The room was average, as were the bed and linens, which I’d rate C-minus. I sniffled and coughed much of the night, possibly from the cleaning products or carpet cleaner. The shower soap dispensers were a good idea, but empty. Breakfast was average processed American food, so I just took coffee and checked out.
