We had Stratford House to ourselves and really enjoyed the included self-guided tour. Our room in the Cheek House was clean, and the house itself was fabulous, with a shared kitchen and living room plus several private rooms. The cabins and Aster House looked fun from the outside, though we didn't see inside. We visited Stratford House on a weekday in August 2025, when the weather had turned cool and it was lovely to be outdoors. The walk toward the beach and mill was great. We tried a trail and made it to the pond, but had to turn back because several trees were down. The trails need some maintenance, so wear long pants and use spray. A good place to relax and unwind.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed breakfast and spending time in the common areas, where we met other guests. It's a beautiful, quiet, comfortable retreat with lots of modern amenities, and a great base for exploring this historic area.

We toured the grounds and had a great night's sleep in the Astor House. The room was spotless, and the staff made sure it was ready even though we arrived early. The amenities were above and beyond. There's no TV in the room, which seems like a good thing these days. My wife and I stayed for Valentine's day and had dinner at the Dining Hall with Densons Farm to Table. It was exceptional in every sense. I'd highly recommend staying here. From what I saw, the other houses look lovely too.

On a last-minute visit, we stayed in the Cherk House and were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a great deck out back. The air conditioning worked really well on a 90 degree day. There was no TV in the room, but that was fine.

My husband and I spent Valentine's weekend here. The grounds were beautiful, the scenery breathtaking, and it was so quiet. Dinner in the dining hall was delicious. We stayed at the Astor House, and our room was beautiful and very clean. There was no wifi or TV in the room, which felt perfect if you want to get away. Highly recommend staying here!
