The rooms are small, but they’ve been freshly remodeled and were clean. The mattress was great, the AC worked well, and the TV had a good picture and signal. And the toilet paper? Sent straight from heaven, the best on Route 66. There are no cups or ice buckets in the room, and no bathroom hooks for hanging clothes. The lobby has no hot water, unless you use the Keurig, where it may be dirty from coffee pods. There’s only coffee, no breakfast or snacks. Luckily there’s a donut shop across the street, a coffee shop a block or so away, and a gas station/store and McDonald’s close by. There were no workers on site, and the email with instructions was in my spam folder. The sign in the room said no pets, but about half the guests had dogs. I wonder how that will affect the fresh remodel over time. Parking needs attention, too. People park right in front of the doors, especially at the inside corner by rooms 3-6. That corner should be kept clear. The lot’s big enough to load and unload by your room, then park farther away. That would leave space for people to sit outside without being blocked in, and keep them from getting bothered by cars coming and going, or by the noise and smell when someone starts up at 5:15 in the morning. It’s brand new, and I’m sure it’ll get better. A few tweaks could make this place great.

The remodel shows a lot of care, and the details make the place feel welcoming. We had a wonderful stay last night. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the pillows were the best, such a difference after a long day on the road. Stroud is lucky to have this iconic Route 66 stop for travelers. It mixes charm, comfort, and history really well. We’ll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

The owner came by to share information and made us feel genuinely welcome. After a great meal at the Rock Cafe, my husband and I walked around at dusk to take in the neon signs. We were lucky enough to drive Route 66 from Springfield, Missouri, to Amarillo, Texas, and The Skyliner in Stroud, Oklahoma, was by far the best place we stayed. Thanks to Skyliner Motel and Stroud, Oklahoma!

The pillows were my favorite part. I curled up in them like a cocoon!! 🥰🥰 The Skyliner has been completely renovated, and our room had the cutest pink fridge. Everything was redone really nicely and the room was super clean. Well done, Skyliner. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Definitely try this motel if you’re traveling Route 66!

I’m riding the full length of Route 66, and my riding partner and I haven’t been treated better anywhere on the trip so far. The owner’s customer service is the best. The inside is clean, modern, and efficient. This is the ONLY place to stay in Stroud. STAY HERE!
