Motel 6 Stuart, IA

The place is very close to the interstate, which was convenient. We checked in because of a vehicle emergency and needed somewhere to wait until morning. The attendant told us the pool area had been removed. We couldn’t get the Motel 6 Guest Wi-Fi to work through the room’s Smart tv, and neither my laptop nor my phone could connect to the guest wifi. Each showed no internet connection, which was frustrating. The window badly needed repair or at least resealing. High winds from a winter storm made the draft worse. My spouse found better accommodations down the street, and we should have looked around before checking in. We wasted money on less than an hour in a drafty room with no wifi and no pool. Lol.

The room was basic and fairly clean, but smelled of mildew and cigarettes. We’d booked two queen beds and were given two doubles instead. At over $80, it felt overpriced. To me, it was worth about $40.

We’d never stayed at a Motel 6 before, but after stopping here on both the way to and from Utah, we’d stay at one all the time if they’re all like this. The place was extremely clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff great. It was pet friendly for our dog, too. Highly recommend!

The staff are so down to earth and friendly, they make you feel at home, like you’ve known them for years. I’ve stayed twice and felt that way both times. The rooms are clean, there’s coffee in the morning, and we enjoyed the game room. It’s a very decent place for the money, with a park and several restaurants nearby, and close to downtown Stuart.
