Economy Lodge

It was quiet, and the room was clean with a fridge and microwave. The bed and pillows were very firm, though. If that bothers you too, bring your own pillow.

My dog is cleaner than this room. The sheets had stains of who knows what, there were burn holes in the blankets, the bathroom door was falling apart, and the surfaces all looked poorly cleaned. I know weekend rates can be higher, especially for a last-minute booking, and I understand the $50 early check-in fee and $30 pet fee. But $220 for two nights is steep when the room is in this shape. If you're charging those prices, clean the rooms.

The room smelled moldy, the towels were dirty, and there was no hot water. When I brought it up, they said that this row of rooms has no hot water and that they could have put me somewhere else if I'd let them know. I was only there one night, thankfully. I should have stayed at any other hotel up the street. It looked very sketchy, and I'd tell people to avoid it unless they're desperate.

Run-down and uncomfortable. I was traveling with a new furbaby and had no idea what I was getting into. I don't mind paying a pet fee to stay somewhere better, but for this kind of place I'd rather have stayed at RedRoof or Motel 6, at least I wouldn't have had Choice Hotel expectations. I don't know what the pet fee goes toward, maybe the owner's pocket. The door had a padlock, which I assume was because of the location, but it didn't actually lock and made me feel even less safe. I was disgusted. This is the second Econo Lodge I've stayed at, and definitely the last. I may rethink my Platinum status with Choice and stay elsewhere. I wasn't recognized as a Choice member either, of course. I should have asked for my money back and left.
