Lily House Bed and Breakfast

The rooms are a great size, though the air conditioning was a bit too strong. It was quiet apart from the street traffic. I liked having the common spaces and yard, but more of a traditional B&B experience or access to a kitchen would have been nice.

That wraparound porch is gorgeous, with lots of nice places to sit, and the garden is well kept. Inside feels really homey, all old fashioned and nicely decorated. The rooms are very nice, with big windows, and there’s even a suite. The hosting is comfortable and well done, and they let you bring in alcohol you’ve bought. The homemade cooking is incredible, served in a gorgeous, beautifully furnished dining room.

I happened to stop in on a whim and was really pleased with the whole experience. The boutique had some great finds, too. I’d definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

I booked a room on the Lily House website and paid upfront. My credit card was charged the full rate, but the room still showed as available in their reservation portal, so other people could book it too. I emailed Lily House to ask them to confirm my reservation, but they never replied. Money taken, no room. My next step is a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. The positive reviews I found were for the previous owners, who transferred the business in late 2018. I’d give no stars if Google Reviews allowed it.
