Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront

The riverfront setting gives the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront peaceful views and a relaxing feel, while still being a short walk from downtown Suffolk’s shops and restaurants. It was quiet enough to feel like a getaway, and worked well for business or leisure. My room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with cozy bedding, a good workspace, and modern amenities. The team were friendly from check-in, offered useful local recommendations, and responded promptly whenever I needed something. I also enjoyed the on-site restaurant and bar, especially breakfast and dinner by the water. It exceeded my expectations, and I’d gladly return and recommend it to people visiting the area.

The room was neat and clean, with a comfortable king bed and a living area with a sofa couch. I booked it in case another classmate decided to come along, but no one did. It also had a small fridge, microwave, desk, and Spectrum TV. The biggest drawback was a strong cigarette smell, which seemed to be in the hallway; maybe the carpet needs replacing. They were remodeling, and I saw the halls being freshly painted. I was in town for a reunion near Smithfield. Stonewood Inn had been rebranded as an Econolodge. Check-in was seamless, and the receptionist was friendly and accommodating. They do ask for a $100 deposit. I do recommend the Econ lodge.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with a comfortable bed. The shower was great, and the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper, towels, washcloths, and a hair dryer.

After a six-hour drive and a full day of work, I needed sleep, and this hotel wasn’t good for that. A loud, air-compressor-like noise came into my room. Luckily I had earplugs, but without them I wouldn’t have been able to sleep. I wonder why they’d allow such a noisy machine in a hotel. I found another review mentioning the same problem from six months earlier, so it still hadn’t been fixed. I’ve also read reviews from people who saw cockroaches, though fortunately I didn’t see any. My complaint might sound silly, but I’m attaching a video where the noise can be heard. I’m not sure whether videos are saved with audio here.
