Courtyard Houston Sugar Land/Lake Pointe

The back patio was a lovely spot to sit and unwind, with a gorgeous view over the water. It was cold during our stay, so being able to use the firepit was great. Gemma at the front desk was welcoming and kind; I just wish the night staff had been a little more welcoming and personable. The shower had good water pressure, and I appreciated the non-slip mat. The beds were comfortable, though the pillows were too soft for me. There was also a nice variety of alcoholic drinks in the snack pantry. I enjoyed the property and its tucked-away location, and I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it.

I was in town for work for two nights and had a quiet, peaceful stay in a very clean room. There are lots of dining and shopping options nearby, and the outdoor patio has a beautiful lake view. One thing I’d suggest: add power outlets near the outdoor seating. I like working outside when the weather’s nice and would love to plug in my laptop. 🤓 Otherwise, it was a positive visit and I’d stay here again when I’m in the area.

The rooms were clean, cozy, and nice, and getting around was easy. I was here for a few days on a business trip. It’s a quiet area, and I had a great stay. Definitely recommend.

I booked on January 18 for a trip scheduled for 619 2026. I’m a Marriott VIP, and they told me today that I couldn’t cancel because of the soccer game on June 19, even though I had January 19 to cancel. This wasn’t a card room or prepaid room; I gave them my credit card. They said they’d charge around $836 for Thursday through Sunday. I feel that’s price gouging because of the soccer tournament. I found another hotel at the Hyatt for $326. They still refused to cancel and said I’d owe $836 even though I’m not staying there in June. They’ll fill the room before then, so I refuse to pay. I’ll call my credit card company in the morning and cancel that card. I was told I could change it and pay for one night, about $250. Not happening.
