The views were breathtaking, and we were really pleased with our stay. Chad L was friendly and knew the area well, helping us find nearby restaurants and places to go. Dakota was very friendly too. The pool, hot tub, gym, and sauna were all nice and available. Great place to stay.

We had a fantastic room, with two bedrooms and baths, a full kitchen with brand new appliances, a washer and dryer, a dining table, three TVs, a big couch, and two large swivel chairs. There was some water damage over time, maybe around the bathroom. The elevator wasn’t working on our first night, but a kind man helped carry our cooler and heavy bag up the stairs. The mountain view from the top was amazing. We watched people ski through the day and could see both sunrise and sunset. Check-in was easy, though the man at the front desk wasn’t the friendliest. We checked in Tuesday and left Friday morning. My dad said the hot tub was really nice. I forgot my daughter’s bathing suit, so I can’t comment on the swimming. Board games downstairs were available to take up to the room. I’d stay again. It’s a beautiful drive, and I’d love to come in spring.

The shuttle between the parking area and ski entrance worked really well, and the staff were friendly. The resort is in a great location overlooking the Sugar Mountain slopes, and Food lion nearby was a decent option when our Walmart delivery never showed up. We didn’t have groceries on hand to make much use of the kitchen, and delivery may have been difficult because the nearest Walmart is far away and we were up the mountain. The room was a little dated but furnished well. The lobby pantry had decent snacks, which mattered with hungry kids. After skiing in the cold, the pool and hot tubs were great. There’s a small fitness center too. The electric sauna didn’t seem to get hot, and the supposed steam sauna was out of order. We also ran out of hot water after two people showered, then had to wait about half an hour for it to return. That was inconvenient for our family of five, and the saunas weren’t impressive.

Parking was a mess, with different instructions coming from the front gate and front desk. On our first night, we arrived in two cars and got different tags, yellow and pink. We were told the yellow tag could use the upper lot by the hotel, while the pink one had to park below and take a shuttle. After a full day skiing the next day, the gate worker refused to let us in with the yellow tag and said only orange tags could park up top. Back inside, the front desk woman said she’d called our room several times to tell us to pick up orange tags. We’d been out skiing all day, so we weren’t there to answer. The whole time, there were empty spaces in the upper lot. The older man working the front desk our first night was very rude and incompetent. I won’t bring my family back.

The slopes are visible from the condo or apartment rentals, and the surrounding area is nice. It’s a good ski resort with decent lodging. Check-in is handled without meeting anyone, but they send the gate code and other stay information by text before you arrive. The process is very efficient.
