Wyndham Garden Summerville

The shower setup was my main concern. Water kept getting onto the floor even with a towel down, and an extra liner under the curtain would help. There wasn't any hand soap either, so I had to use the cleansing bar. Otherwise, my stay at Wyndham Hall Garden Hotel was pleasant. It's in a very convenient spot close to everything, and the staff at check-in and checkout were friendly and helpful.

We arrived around 2 a.m. on the 27th after booking weeks ahead with Wyndham and adding an extra night. There had been a fire, which I understand was unexpected, but nobody texted, emailed, or otherwise told us there were no rooms. It was a cold night and I had my one-year-old with me, so we had nowhere to stay and had to find another hotel at the last minute. Thankfully Best Western took us in and treated us amazingly for the rest of our time in SC. I won't book here again and don't recommend it.

The bed was okay, and there were lots of pillows, which was nice. Check-in was easy on my phone, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel welcomes dogs, and getting to the small dog area was easy enough for us to manage. There are places to eat and a Target nearby. Charleston is about 35 minutes away, depending on traffic, which we're not used to.

The front desk clerk was rude, and I never feel recognized as a Wyndham member. The bathroom was awful, with obvious issues throughout the room that should be easy to see. This feels like the same problem at every Wyndham hotel. Members get these lousy places, Super 8 and Days Inn. Wyndham is awful, and I'd rather stay at the Hilton. Never again.
