Hampton Inn Columbus/Delaware I-71 North

The room itself was clean and cozy when we checked in around 11, but there was no hot water for a shower. The front desk couldn’t fix it when I called, and after waiting about two hours I went down to ask. The clerk said the water heaters were down. Even a day later, we still had no hot water, and I couldn’t afford to switch hotels. Worst experience I’ve had at a Hilton affiliate.

The second room didn’t smell, but its tub was clogged with hair and debris, so we couldn’t shower. The water swung between scalding and cold, the toilet ran all night, and there was mold where the baseboard was missing. We had to ask for another room because the first one smelled awful as soon as we walked in. The whole place felt neglected, like management was cutting corners and didn’t care about cleanliness. I’d stay somewhere else.

The employees were kind and helpful, and the service was really nice. The rooms felt modern, and the property was fairly clean and well kept. I came here on holiday with my family and thought it was a good place to stay.

The deadbolt wouldn’t lock, and the heater made a terrible noise, like its fan bearing was going bad. In the morning there was no hot water for our shower either. I called the desk at 5 a.m.; she said she’d reset it and it should work in about 15 minutes, but an hour and a half later we still had none. I complained and nothing was done. Very poor customer service.
