The rustic cabin was spotless and charming, and the check-in was easy. I think it’s family run, which I prefer to support over the big chains, and the price was great. Guests are asked to wash the dishes and take out the trash to help keep rates affordable, which seems like basic decency to me. The cabins are smoke-free, with smoking allowed outside, another plus for my family. We almost stayed an extra night on our way home from vacation and will definitely return.

The views were amazing, and we loved the resort horses and friendly cats. We booked two nights for a rest during our cross-country move, and everyone slept well. It was quiet and exactly what we needed. When I struggled to get our trailer up the gravel drive in the dark, the manager came to help. Later, my five-year-old had altitude sickness, and another worker checked on us and brought Gatorade. It’s a beautiful spot and would make a great base for exploring the area.

We decided not to stay because Cabin 4 didn’t match what the online photos led us to expect, and we didn’t feel comfortable or confident it was clean. The pictures showed chairs that looked comfortable, but the two in the cabin had little padding and only came up to mid-back. They also didn’t show that the main-level beds touched three of the four walls. There were just two pillows on the bed, and when I looked for more, I found hair on a pillow in the other room. We’ve stayed in this kind of space before. It seemed like they may have tried to fit as many people as possible into the cabin, which might work for families but didn’t suit us. We found a local hotel room that was much larger and smelled and felt cleaner.

The horses came up behind our cabin at sunset, and we also spent hours on the porch with a sweet little cat. I briefly thought about taking him home to Chicago, though he seemed happy visiting the new cabin guests each night. I’d randomly chosen this resort for a night while driving through Wyoming, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise on our 20-hour trip home. The hillside view was beautiful, the cabins were adorable and had what we needed, and my kids especially loved the attic loft in Cabin 6. Thanks to Matt for a restful night. I wish we could’ve stayed longer.

We appreciated Matt’s quick replies when we checked the sleeping setup in advance, after carefully reading the cabin description and looking at the pictures. Our teen loved the loft, and the 7- and 10-year-olds fit together in the roomy twin bed, so we didn’t need the air mattress we brought. There was good storage over that bed. The kitchen had what we needed to make meals, with Decker’s just down the road for groceries, and there was plenty of hot water for showers. Our family of five spent one night in Cabin #3, enjoying the quiet after a couple of busy resort days and the lovely porch view. The kids also liked seeing the horses and visiting the friendly cats. Great location and value.
