Golden Strand Ocean Villa Resort

Stores and food were all an easy walk away, and the beach and view felt like our backyard. Everyone was great and friendly. My family and I stayed in one of the villas last year over Christmas and New Year's, and we had the best time. I’ll be coming back this year and staying here again. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The food was the weak spot. We tried the pizza, and the recipe could use a revamp. Everything else made for a great stay: clean rooms, an inviting atmosphere whether you're with family or not, excellent drinks, and a perfect pool right by the private beach.

You need to call about everything because there are extra charges, including for people beyond those registered and even for the parking lot. That part is stupid. Still, I loved the place: the room was amazing, the pool and hot tubs were great, and the balcony had an amazing view.

The Golden Strand has been a favorite for 15 years, and it's sad to see it go to make room for what they call progress: two towers, with each apartment selling for over a million. The place has a great location and is very family oriented. The beach is just steps away, and the resort has volleyball, a spa, restaurant, pool, washing machines, dryers, and ice makers. Most rooms have full kitchens. The units are dated because the property will be torn down soon, but the staff are great. We’ll miss them!
