On 5/16/2025, I tried to park with my valid Florida-issued blue handicap placard, which identifies me as a disabled war veteran. A security guard tried to charge me for valet parking even after I explained my legal status and rights. I respectfully described the Florida statutes I believe require free, accessible parking for disabled people. He brushed that aside, saying these were “the rules of the property” and Oceanview doesn't offer handicap spaces unless you're a resident. When I tried to clarify the law, he raised his voice, became aggressive and abusive, and threatened me, even suggesting he'd call the police. This was a disturbing encounter and, to me, showed a serious lack of training on Florida laws protecting disabled veterans. That behavior is unacceptable for a guard representing the community. I urge the Oceanview Condominium Administration to train security staff on Florida disability and veterans’ rights laws, ensure they respect and uphold state law, and take disciplinary action over abusive conduct. I hope the administration takes this seriously so it doesn't happen again.

Apartment 1603 was so nasty that we couldn't sleep for two days. The bathrooms were dirty, there was a terrible smell, and the curtains were broken and cabinets dirty. We booked through orbits and called to ask about changing hotels. The orbits supervisor offered a $100 coupon toward changing hotels. Why would you put a family with kids in an apartment like this without checking it first? Worst place.

Terrible building. The concierge service guy sitting on the ground floor is awful and can't even speak English. The people working for the jack warn you as soon as you arrive that it's a terrible building and to be careful here.

The beach was the best part: it was clean and close enough to walk to. There was also a handy mini mart in the lobby and a gym. The pool was closed, and staff were a little rude about it. Front desk hospitality could be better, and the elevator by the pool wasn't working properly. There's only one entrance to the pool and beach, and it smelled because of the trash compactor. The walls are thin enough that you can hear the person next door. Also, what's with the rabbit in the lobby?

The bathroom plumbing was a mess. The toilet and shower backed up, and when I contacted the manager, I was told the plumber was off duty and would come the next morning. That didn't happen. I followed up and was moved to the unit next door, but its sink was backed up too. When I tried reaching the manager again, I was told she was out of the country. I booked through Booking.com. I also paid manager Maria in cash to avoid the 5% credit card fee, and she said she'd email a receipt, but I'm still waiting. I don't know how I'll get my $150 deposit back. The dealings feel very shady. Booking.com hasn't offered any help. Avoid this place at all cost.
