I went in with reasonable expectations and actually liked the place more than I expected. It’s a good-value option in a great location if you can live with a few annoyances, but don’t expect a five-star resort or its amenities. The pool was in great shape and the beach was easy to reach. Lyft pickups were simple, and there’s a bus stop close by for public transportation. You do have to rent a chair on the beach itself. Those chairs are run by a small business unaffiliated with the hotel: you can ask them to walk to Publix and buy one for you, or pay $10 a day. There was construction by the pool deck, apparently to improve the property, and the sauna and steam room were a little dirty, though both worked as they should. The elevators were slow, but the lobby wait gave me a chance to hear the staff fluently helping guests in several languages. The staff were polite and worked incredibly hard. Thanks for making my stay a good one. The little pizza place in the basement was excellent, too!

The pool is lovely and right by the ocean, and the room itself was comfortable. I appreciated the refrigerator, small sink, coffee maker, bowls and utensils, and the AC worked well. There was renovation underway as of 5/26. Service was the bigger problem for me. Staff I dealt with seemed indifferent and complacent. When the seventh-floor ice machine was switched off, I was told to find another floor. Questions to the front desk or concierge got “I don’t know.” It felt like they were just there to collect a paycheck, with no sense of customer service. Dianna, the pool bartender, was the one employee who understood what good service meant and provided it. Dining choices are limited to the pool bar, pizza parlor, and a small grab-and-go in the lobby.

I booked for one night in March 2026 to see what the hotel was like, then stayed three. I don’t usually leave reviews, but the staff were so friendly, helpful, and hardworking that I wanted to thank them. I’ve only been home a week and already want to come back. The beds were comfortable and I slept well all three nights. The rooms are a little dated but clean, with great shower pressure. I also appreciated the pool towel service, the poolside restaurant menu, and the steam room, which gets properly steamy. A few walls were being painted while I was there, and there was some work on the pool deck. It felt like they were trying to improve the property. It’s an old landmark with plenty of wear, but it has good bones and a charming history. At check-in there’s a slideshow of the hotel in its heyday, when it hosted Tina Turner, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Jim Morrison, and others. Her peak years are long gone, and many neighboring old buildings have been replaced by billion-dollar condos towering over her. I love that this place is still standing as a reminder of the past. The elevators can be slow and frustrating, though you can take the stairs. It’s not the Ritz, but for a hotel directly on the beachfront, the price is hard to beat. If you expect a five-star experience, pay for one. I think coming in with modest expectations will leave you pleasantly surprised. If the hotel got millions in renovations, the prices would shoot up and I probably couldn’t afford it anymore. And the pizza at Pizza Bianco downstairs was some of the best I’ve had. I went back for a second one. Thanks to all the staff for a memorable visit. I’ll be back soon.

We’re here for 17 days, and so far it’s been a really pleasant, comfortable stay. We usually go to The Newport, but John Q impressed us. After checking with management, he arranged an upgrade to an ocean-view room with a fridge and kitchen, which is great. John was the best, and now I’m sold on staying here from now on. The bed is comfy, even if it’s a little high up, haha. Housekeeping or maintenance come up quickly whenever I call, and the poolside food is good and reasonably priced. Thanks to everyone!

The pool deck gave us a beautiful setting for our son’s wedding ceremony and photos, followed by the reception in the Persian Room. Our family had the immense pleasure of hosting the wedding at the Marco Polo Resort, and the day was perfect. We stayed for a week, and many of our guests extended their weekend too. We enjoyed the pool, beach, and hotel services, and guests felt well cared for. From our first planning meeting, Gary Suarez, Sales & Catering Manager, was organized, responsive, and calm, which kept the process stress-free. Gary and Melodie Zarza, Sales Administrative Assistant, answered every question and patiently helped with the details so everything matched our vision. Special thanks to them both for their attentiveness throughout the stay. Choosing the Marco Polo Resort was the best decision we made for the venue. Thank you for making our dream day real and giving us memories to keep for a lifetime. Highly recommended.
