Sahara Beach Club

It’s a beautiful location and one of the little pieces of history left in Suny Isles, which makes it such a shame to see what’s happening. I grew up coming here, and it looks like the staff and owners have let the place fall apart to push out the people who rent and live here. The pool no longer works, and I believe it was drained on purpose to make things worse and drive people out. They keep incompetent staff who make it miserable to be there. If you need anything, no one at the front desk can be found or wants to help. That includes renters and the remaining owners they haven’t pushed out. The parking is NOT secure. The gates have been broken for months, anyone can come in, and there’s no security. Staff don’t seem to care. They take money to let cars park in the private lot, leaving no spaces for renters and owners, just to line their pockets. It’s disgustingly obvious. The greedy owners won’t let this beautiful place last long. Such a SHAME.

The location is excellent, but the resort fees weren’t included in the price and weren’t clearly disclosed when I booked. The front desk staff also seemed unpleasant and weren’t very friendly. At check-in, the fire alarm in our assigned room was blaring, making it impossible to stay inside. We reported it at the front desk, but the staff responded unfriendly and didn’t offer another room on their own. They only agreed to move us after we insisted.

The location was nice, but that didn't make up for the state of the room or how we were treated. We arrived to a locked lobby with nobody there to let us in, and after finally getting checked in, found a filthy room. The bed had been made with used sheets, there was hair in it, and the towels had brown stains. Dried brown urine was on the toilet seat and mud covered the floors. No one was around to help, either. In the morning, a very rude woman said she'd send fresh sheets and towels. We waited a day, asked again, and she handed us a key to another dirty room, telling us to switch because they had no workers. That room was dirty too, so we stayed put and asked her to bring linens when she could. Nothing ever arrived. We had to spend the night in the disgusting room with no other option. At checkout she was rude and argumentative again, saying nobody else had complained, so why should we? Please don't come here.

The rooms were filthy, and ours wasn't set up for the four people we booked for. There weren't four towels or enough pillows, and when we asked them to make it right, they acted like we were asking too much. The staff were incredibly unprofessional about payment, too. I booked using my dad's card because he wanted to help us celebrate our Anniversary, and all they needed to do was charge the card on the reservation. Since he wasn't there, I ended up spending almost all my trip money to pay for the room myself.
