Talkeetna Lakeside Cabins

After a full day exploring the parks, Hilltop Lakeside Cabin was a clean, sanitized place to rest. It had the necessities and was wonderful to unwind in. This was my first stay here, and the views through the towering trees were breathtaking. I'd absolutely pick it again for a great vacation.

The owner made us feel welcome, and the cabin had a comfortable feel too. My wife and I brought a couple of family members for a break, and we were impressed by how thoughtfully everything was set up. We live just over an hour away, so we'll be back for future getaways. I'd recommend checking the place out for either a short or longer break.

The lake, loons, and quiet from the back patio made this feel like heaven, and that bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Wayne was kind, accommodating, and honest. I booked six nights, then asked to add two more and was able to stay. There were plenty of towels and the coffee was amazing. I could've stayed forever. Thanks, Wayne!

We wanted a quiet cabin near Talkeenta, away from the tourist traffic, and this one suited us. We stayed two nights at Bird cove on my first Alaska trip. The lake view from the kitchen window was lovely, and we even got a few photos of a beaver swimming by. The owner said we could use the two boats by the small dock. There are bundles of firewood ready by the money drop box if you want a campfire, though you might need lighter fluid. A couple of things to know: you can't drive up to every cabin, and two require a short walk along a path. They're in sight, so finding them wasn't a problem. We were there in early June, when the mosquitoes were getting bad, so bug spray is a must. This cabin is cute and quaint, but the small spaces and little steps up to the loft bed could be hard for an older couple with mobility or space concerns. We're younger, so the steps were easy for us. The other cabins have more room.
