Inn at 161

The Trading Post, a great little hole-in-the-wall gas station, is right next door with snacks, drinks, and a fantastic selection of local wines. Downtown shops, tasting rooms, and restaurants are just around the corner and all walkable. The inn is off the main road in a quiet community, with a few private spots and street parking out front. We got a warm welcome, and the room was cozy, spotless, and smelled like a day spa. The bed and pillows were comfy, and the fireplace was a nice touch. Still, the thin walls made it hard to relax. A family with kids stayed across the hall, a couple argued all night next door, and we could hear the person upstairs walking on the hardwood floor. We turned on the fall and TV to cover the noise. The shower had good pressure and temperature, and the outdoor seating was lovely for opening a bottle of bubbly and celebrating our anniversary. Breakfast was nothing exciting, just continental. The host seemed a bit over-eager to help, and I think my cappuccino was decaf, but it was a decent complimentary bite before heading out.

The grounds are lovely, and although there were several other guests, I barely heard anyone apart from at breakfast. The place feels secure, with codes for the front and back doors, and check-in was a breeze, with check-out even easier. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities you might need and a charming clawfoot tub. There's a continental breakfast each morning, plus a refrigerator in the dining area for leftovers. Downtown that creek is within walking distance. I'd definitely return, and noticed they have a larger room with a living room and sofa for a whole family.

Such a cute place, with spacious rooms and lovely-smelling sheets. The road noise was my only complaint, so next time I'd ask for a room in the back.

The breakfast was a highlight, fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed for a peaceful stay. We felt at home from the moment we arrived thanks to the warm hospitality. The Inn at 161 is charming, beautifully decorated, and full of cozy touches. Its location made it easy to explore downtown while still giving us a quiet escape. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return.
