Old, run-down, and creepy. The breakfast was basic. The toaster did a great job on my bagel, but there was nothing to put on it. My room’s floor looked like it hadn’t been swept or mopped since the 1900s. There was a new TV, fridge, and lamp, and a Kerrigan in the room, but I had to take it into the bathroom to plug it in because there was no outlet for it. The elevator is down a flight of stairs, which is bizarre. There’s a freight lift if you’re not too scared to climb aboard with a heavy suitcase. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable, the staff were great, and there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Nothing fancy, though. If you like the smell of purple fabulouso, you’ll be in heaven: they pour it straight on the floors and mop with it, without rinsing the mop or anything, just purple fabulouso and dirt. If you want to sleep, bring a sedative because the bathroom exhaust fan runs nonstop and sounds like a tiny belt-driven shop fan.

We came here for the night because our son needed surgery early the next morning. The stay was the worst hotel experience we’ve had. The main entrance reeked of weed. We told an employee, who just looked at us like we were crazy. Then we discovered we’d been charged twice for the room, and were told to take it up with our bank. The elevator kept skipping our third floor before finally stopping there. Chicken bones were scattered along the hallway, which also smelled like weed. In our room, the beds were the only clean thing. The toilet, sink, and tub were dirty, there was hair in the ice bucket, and the mini fridge stank. We asked for a different room, but were told none were available. They also refused a refund because we had already checked in, so we cleaned the room ourselves. We barely slept because the weed smell kept coming into the room. We put a blanket along the bottom of the door, but it still got in. The AC/heater had a frayed wire, the hairdryer was taped together, the curtains had holes, and someone had used a sock to wrap a pipe under the bathroom sink.

The only real plus was the friendly, helpful staff during check-in. Parking was available, the price was great, and I liked that the Roku TVs let you sign in to your streaming services instead of being limited to cable. The room was gross and unsanitary, with mold in the bathroom, a collapsing ceiling, old splatter on the walls, and stained towels. The bathroom overall was just so gross. The couch chair also looked moldy. The phone didn’t work, one lamp was out, the wifi was slow, and the room and hallways smelled bad. Everything felt outdated.

We drove more than two hours to Tallahassee for a weekend stay, having booked a king room about a month ahead and completed the early check-in request to “save time.” At around 3:00 pm on 2/28/2026, there were about 20-30 guests waiting in the lobby. After roughly 40 minutes in line, the desk told us the hotel was booked and had no room for us. They asked us to return in about an hour, so my wife and I went to get food. When we came back, I waited another 20 minutes, only to be told again that there was no room ready. It was a little after 5 pm, and we couldn’t get ready for our 6 pm event. I said we’d take the first clean room available. A very nice lady offered us a temporary room to change in and promised ours would be ready when we returned. She said it was clean but out of service for a plumbing issue. It was filthy, with trash, wet towels, hair, dirty linens, and more. We changed quickly and left for the event. We got back around 11 pm and were assigned a king room. The door was cracked open. Inside, it smelled of body odor, and the bed had wrinkled, dirty linens and hair everywhere. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned. At the desk, a representative said the hotel was double booked and started looking for another room. I heard them say, “we don’t know if anyone is in this room but we’ll try it.” We were assigned a third room. When my wife and I unlocked it, someone was already inside. By then I was exhausted and very upset. The desk apologized and said there were no rooms available. They offered a refund, which I agreed to, though I still haven’t received it. We drove the two hours back home. This hotel experience ruined a trip we wish we hadn’t taken. I hope future guests read this and avoid the same trouble.
