The clerk was kind and even carried my bags upstairs when I switched back to the second-floor king room. That room was mostly clean, with a comfortable enough bed and great pillows, but an air freshener tucked into the AC/heater gave me a headache and kept me awake for much of the night. The shower pressure was okay, though the water only got lukewarm, and the bathroom lock stays locked, which could be a problem. I first had to move from the second-floor king to a first-floor double because there’s no elevator and I couldn’t get my bags upstairs. The double was dirty, smelled bad, and had screaming children nearby, plus a weed smell coming from the next room. Checkout morning got uncomfortable too. I was taking things to my car and returned to find two employees, apparently from the cleaning crew, in my room. They didn’t seem to understand I was still checked in, and I had to firmly tell them to get out several times. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We recently came back and could see that they’re making changes based on visitor feedback. Clocks have been added to common areas, some often-requested breakfast items are being provided, and doors guests had left propped open are now being closed for safety. I appreciate that they’re taking comments seriously and making adjustments. They were accommodating with our family and patient with the young kids. The heating and AC both worked wonderfully.

The bed and pillows were so comfortable, and the room was a decent price. The people at check-in were pleasant too. I’m glad it was only one night, though. Towels and rags had marks from previous guests, including blood, and the cover had old stains. The wall had blood on it, the mirror looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week, and the microwave was covered in handprints. The TV didn’t work, either. The toilet needed fiddling with before it would flush. I lifted the tank lid and saw barely any water inside; eventually it flushed and stopped running. The AC unit was really loud. I needed sleep anyway, and that bed was comfortable, but this was a room from hell.

I needed a comfortable room and a safe place to stop for the night, and my room was perfect. I was traveling alone and still had an hour and a half to go to my destination, but I was extremely tired. The staff were wonderful and the bed was awesome. Breakfast was sparse and disappointing, with no protein or decaf coffee, but that wasn’t a deal breaker. I wasn’t stopping for the free breakfast, and if I hadn’t been ready to get back on the road, I could have gone to the Waffle House about a mile away.

The shower was absolutely disgusting, with hair, including pubic hair, all over the floor and on the handicap seat. My feet got dirty just walking around the room. The refrigerator was extremely loud, and the thin walls let us hear everything from footsteps to arguments next door, barking dogs, and crying babies. We were in the room beside the stairs. I seriously considered leaving, but I was too tired. Breakfast was barely anything: slices of bread, some cereal, and exactly three oranges, even though I went at 6 a.m. I don’t recommend this hotel.
