Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Brandon

The front desk staff were nice, but nearly everything else was terrible. This is the worst Hilton property I’ve stayed at, a one-star experience, not three. The hotel needs a remodel. I understand Hilton doesn’t own it and that it’s independently owned, but Hilton, did you hear me? Remodel it. My first room, one in the 265s, smelled like sewer, so we asked to move. Room 577 smelled better, but still wasn’t good. The shower wouldn’t drain, there was no body soap, and the faucet wouldn’t stay where I set it. It slowly shifted until the water became extremely hot. The carpet and chairs were in terrible condition and stained. The AC fan was very noisy, and I couldn’t set the temperature below 70. There were more problems in room 266: the toilet paper holder wasn’t attached to the wall, shower plumbing was coming out of the wall, and there was terrible dust behind the nightstand. It smelled like sewer in the morning too. At breakfast, neither of the two toasters could toast my bagel. Don’t stay here. I’d choose Red Roof instead, and wouldn’t believe anyone calling this a five-star hotel.

The room was great, and check-in was quick and friendly. The evening social was the highlight, especially bartender Mason, who was very sweet. When I told him we were heading to Michigan, he said he’d bring out the big glasses for us. Lol, thank you so much, Embassy Suites.

Everyone was excellent, cheerful, and helpful. Matthew J, the front desk manager, made check-in easy and answered questions about places to visit in Tampa. Chef Mike makes the best breakfast. I’ve been seeing him for years, and he’s been there 19 years. Ivy and Shani were very friendly too. I also watched the general manager spend more than 30 minutes helping a customer, something I’ve never seen a salesperson do. Matthew J, Ambassador, I’ve booked a future trip to Hawaii at the Embassy Suites Hilton. This is an outstanding place to stay in Tampa Brandon.

We stayed one night on Dec 4, and it was a great experience all around. The staff were wonderful and so friendly, I wish I could name everyone we met. Kamila at the front desk was lovely, and Mason and Matthew in the restaurant and bar went above and beyond. We had dinner at Mango's, where the food was great and reasonably priced for a hotel. Our rooms were clean and comfortable.
