Palm Villa Hostel was a real gem in Florida. I was really pleased with the guests and the rate was great. The room had a relaxing Zen feel, and I had a blast meeting so many people and making friends. Everyone was wonderful. Someone even walked me across the street to a very inexpensive Cuban breakfast spot. In the evenings, we checked out Ybor City or walked to Armiture Works for lots of food choices. Don’t miss Hyde Park or the beaches. There are terrific museums you can get to by bus in St Petersburg.

The space is cozy, cute, and full of personality, which made moving to a new area feel less intimidating. Don, the owner, was friendly, understanding, and accommodating from the start. Even with some unusual circumstances, he made me feel welcome and took care to make sure I was comfortable. His attention makes Palm Villa Hostel feel more like home than just a place to sleep. If you want a warm, well-run hostel in the Tampa region, I can’t recommend it enough.

Meeting Don was such a great experience. He made sure the accommodations worked for me, and his gentle manner helped my nervous system settle. I’m grateful to share how that felt. I hope you get to meet him too, he really does go out of his way to make the experience as good as possible for each person.

The hospitality is great, and visitors are made to feel welcome with what they need to be comfortable. There are incredible views and maps, too. Just outside Historic Ybor City, it’s a terrific spot to relax and recharge, with everything Tampa Bay has to offer only minutes away. If you’re looking for one of the best hostels in the country, you’ve found it. Such a well-kept secret for Tampa Bay visitors.

We came to town for a wedding and had a very clean private room with its own bathroom. Being able to check in early at 8:30 am was a huge help, and he was very responsive throughout our trip.
