Ramada by Wyndham Tampa Airport Westshore

We found it handy for a night before or after a cruise, on the way to the airport. The rooms are spacious and clean, with no bugs, plenty of hot water, and good AC. Laundry is near the ice machine. The continental breakfast was good, coffee included, and honestly better than what we had on our cruise a few days earlier. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the neighborhood made it easy to find food. We also got to the cruise easily using the shuttle from the hotel. Still, the building felt old and dark, more like a motel, and the walls were so thin we heard our neighbors talking. At the airport, we waited on the phone for over 15 minutes before anyone answered and sent a shuttle. Then we were told the water would be off until 10 in the morning. We left at noon and it still wasn't back. Strange and gross.

For about $90 a night, this was a better stay than we expected. It's right by the airport, with comfortable beds, good AC, a mini fridge, and a TV that worked fine. Staff were polite, and maintenance responded quickly when we had an issue. It's dated and seems to be falling behind on some upkeep, like paint touch-ups, but it covered the basics for a budget hotel. Good value, and I'd stay again.

The location was the best part, with several restaurants close enough to walk to. The hotel itself felt run down, and paint was peeling from the shower and tub tiles. There was a filthy microwave sitting in the middle of the hallway. The front desk woman wasn't very pleasant and seemed short on patience, while the shuttle staff were disorganized. Our pickup was set for 9:40, but we didn't leave until 10:05. Breakfast had no protein, just waffles, pancakes, and cereal. The price felt like five-star pricing for a place that should be two-star.
