Casa Benavides Inn

The room was comfortable, though getting onto the mattress was awkward because it sat so high, and half the room felt dark. The front desk person gave us a great dinner suggestion, and breakfast was excellent. The rooms fit their namesakes, with a Southwest feel carried through the dining room and public areas. Everyone on staff was friendly and knew their stuff.

I liked the Blue Lady room, but the shower setup needs attention. The tub was slippery and the shower head should be replaced. Breakfast was good and the staff were nice. I didn’t have enough time to see everything, so I’d come back in spring or summer when it’s warmer.

We keep choosing this place whenever we’re in Taos. The rooms are all different, which makes staying here fun, and breakfast is fabulous. You can walk to all of downtown, but the inn itself isn’t on a really busy street. I can’t recommend it enough.

Breakfast was a real highlight: friendly table service, coffee refills, fresh not-too-sweet muffins, and a fluffy egg bake with green chile and fresh tortillas. It was made to order and delicious. The rooms are roomy, comfortable, and each has its own character. Staff were warm and helpful, and everything was very clean. The B&B is lovely and well placed in Taos. Parking was easy, with plenty on site, an overflow lot nearby, and street parking too. A lovely base for visiting Taos and the area around it.
