Santa Fe Motel Tehachapi by Hotel O

The biggest problem was getting a receipt. They flat-out refused after we paid. A couple of days later, I called the Santa Fe Motel to reach someone other than the guy who checked us in late at night. I asked them to email me a copy, but was told they had no receipts to give and the new company didn't yet have its email set up because ownership had changed. When I asked for a photo of the registration card they should have on file, the guy said he didn't have it because they had to turn the cards in to the government daily. That didn't sound right, and I never got a receipt. The person who answered wouldn't give me his name. The room was a disgusting mess, nothing like the pictures. Dirty towels were folded on the clean towel holder, shelves were broken, and there was hair all over the drain. The fridge was gross, as if someone had spilled food and not wiped it up. There was no heat, and the mattresses looked like they'd been pulled from the side of the road. After a long day of driving, I tried to shower but there was no hot water. It seemed like they turned it off at night, since there was hot water in the morning. It was super bad. Don't stay here. Cheap or not, it wasn't worth $75, not even in CA. People, seriously beware!
