Double Diamond 23 by Avantstay Close to Town & The Slopes!

We booked unit 18 at Double Diamond Resort through Airbnb, with Kevin P. as the host. On the day we were checking in, while we were on the way to Telluride, we were told the unit we’d reserved wasn’t available because of construction and that we’d been upgraded to a bigger, better one. We were highly disappointed when we arrived. There was a strong dead-animal smell on the ground level, the carpet was filthy, and the sheets in the first room were torn. The second room had no fire alarm. A huge hole in the wall leading to the third floor had been poorly repaired, and the loft ladder up there was secured with what looked like shoe shoestring. The furniture was in poor condition, the fridge was a mini fridge, and the microwave had a dresser drawer pull or knob glued onto it. When we told Kevin how disappointed we were, he was completely dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. He then threatened to sue us. Both the unit’s condition and Kevin’s behavior toward Airbnb customers were awful. Customers shouldn’t be put in a dirty, unsafe unit, then shunned or threatened for bringing up concerns.
