The Ice House Suites and Condos has a beautiful outdoor pool and hot tub area with stunning mountain views, and the location is excellent, just steps from downtown, the river trail, and the gondola. Our Deluxe Suite was clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with a small kitchen, a full bathroom, and a handy half bath. The king bed was comfortable. The pull-out couch, though, was angled upward and made a poor second bed. It was technically sleepable, but far from ideal. The main problem was the heat. We stayed at the end of June, and there was no air conditioning. The website didn't mention that, and we weren't told ahead of time. The suite got unbearably hot during the day, so we couldn't enjoy being in the room. It was especially tough for the pregnant woman, someone going through menopause, and a 19-month-old toddler in our group. At night, we couldn't fall asleep until very late, when the stuffy room finally began to cool down. Staff brought us a box fan, but it only pushed the hot air around. We paid nearly $1,000 for two nights, so having so little basic comfort in peak summer was especially frustrating. For that price, we expected a more restful, accommodating stay.
