Viking Lodge

No AC or fans, so sleeping depends on being able to open the windows. Our front window was broken, and if you sleep hot, good luck getting any rest. We also thought tiny flies might be coming out of the sink faucet. We shut the drain, but bugs kept falling out whenever we turned on the tap. The top bunk didn't seem properly secured to the wall, so luckily one of the boys used the couch. And the shower was held together with Flex Seal tape. That's all I've got to say about that.

The hot tub only worked one day, which was a letdown, as that happened at most of the Colorado places on our trip. Otherwise it was very nice. Lift 7 and the free gondola are convenient, and Town of Telluride is a short 0.3-mile walk away.

I've been to Telluride several times and never had anything like this happen. We left a wagon outside our door, where people put skis and other things, because it was wet from the snow. Someone took it. A real shame, since everything else was great.

The location was great, and this was my second stay, the first one five years ago. Both visits were for a scientific meeting. This time my apartment smelled of urine, and there was a lot of hair in the shower drain, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned well enough. I should have asked to switch units, but I arrived at 7 p.m. and then got busy with meetings. Less than perfect.
