The pool is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤙🏽, and San Portella is a great place to live, centrally located in the valley and convenient for commuting. The leasing office, including the assistant manager, makes it feel welcoming and warm. The front office staff’s care for residents is a big part of why I’m satisfied. My main concern is how long maintenance issues inside apartments and around the property can take. Staff turnover is also a little unnerving. I’d recommend hiring more maintenance crew.

We’ve been here about five months and enjoy how clean the grounds always are. The maintenance team has been prompt, too. Tania and Nicole in the office have been the best part, they’re so friendly and always greet us with a smile. When choosing a new home, I read reviews, but remember that online posts show only one side. I hope this helps the next person considering a move. This is a great community.

We’ve had a frustrating, disorganized experience, and the management company doesn’t seem to take responsibility. The office staff have been friendly, but the problems have continued since we moved in. The pool has closed several times, a package disappeared from the unsecured parcel room, outgoing mail can’t be used, and the gate callbox is unreliable and sometimes keeps us from getting in. The grounds feel neglected, with leaves, pine needles, and pests around the property. Before moving in, we were told the unit would be ready within days, so we canceled our other application and lost those fees. Then we heard it might still be occupied, and next that it wouldn’t be ready until Friday, even though we had to leave our current apartment by Tuesday. We put our belongings in a U-Haul and stayed in a hotel. The day before move-in, we learned the unit hadn’t even been renovated, which was one of the main reasons we chose this property. The only solution offered each time was switching units for much higher rent, which we eventually did. When we got the keys, the apartment was in very poor shape: mold and water damage under the kitchen sink, greasy cabinets, burnt food on the stove, residue in the oven, dead bugs throughout, and wasp nests on the patio. We delayed moving in again so these could be addressed, but only some of the issues were resolved. After switching units, we also waited nearly a week for gas service, so we had no hot water, stove, or laundry. We initially thought San Portella was a great fit, with updated units, good storage, and a first-floor option for our senior dog.

The staff are nice when you move in, and living here wasn’t bad otherwise. But landscaping starts every morning at 5 a.m. If you don’t renew your lease, the staff completely change their attitude and come after you.

I visited a friend here and felt a sense of community as soon as I arrived. The grounds were clean, and I saw maintenance staff picking up trash they came across. My friend told me about the referral program, and I’m planning to rent here in the spring when my lease ends.
